There is far too much doom and gloom. All is not lost. There is a war of words to be engaged with Islam, a war of ideas, interpretation, comparison and evaluation. Why are there so few critical comparisons made between Jesus and Muhammad by Christian leaders? Why is the Koran not subjected to the techniques of literary criticism? Why is the Koranic narrative not measured against the Old and New Testaments? It is not just the Taliban and sharia that many flee. They seek freedom and prosperity. These are not to be found in their own war torn, violent, divided, failed states. It is humanly suffocating to live under an Islamic caliphate in Afghanistan, in a theocratic Islamic republic such as Iran or in a cruel dictatorship such as Syria. Let the west hold its nerve. Falsehood and truth will together be exposed.
